English Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistol by R. Barnet, Minories, London, circa 1770

English flintlock blunderbuss pistol by R. Barnet, Minories, London, circa 1770.  According to the experts, the roller frizzen was introduced in the 1770s. The early ones had a large wheel on the spring like this one.  Overall length, 15 1/2 inches with a 9 1/2 brass barrel with a cannon muzzle.  Part octagonal breech with the balance round separated by a turned ring.  Bore is 7/8s of an inch at the muzzle.  Marked on top, Minories, London with London proofs.  Lock marked R. Barnet.  Full walnut stock with brass mounts.  Ball butt with a grotesque head.  Brass escutcheon plate.  Pillar trigger guard with an acorn finial.  Decorative side plate.  Solid stock with no cracks or repairs.  Numerous dents etc from use and storage.  Brass has not been cleaned for a long time with a nice age patina.  Action works fine.  Short ramrod, probably a replacement.  An unusually massive gun.
