English Infantry Hanger, circa 1740-60, type frequently purchased by colonial troops

English infantry hanger, circa 1740-60.  Cheap sword frequently purchased by the colonial troops.  Used in both the French and Indian War and the Revolution.  D-guard brass hilt with a clam shell.  Turned wood grip.  Plain 22 inch curved blade with a single grove.  Overall length 37 inches.  Sword is excellent condition showing little use.  One small vise mark on each side of blade near the hilt.  Neumann 23.S.
