Pair of artillery officer's epaulets, circa 1790 to 1814. Probably British, although this style was worn by both English and American officers of that period. Entire epaulets edged in silver bullion with an intact silver bullion fringe. Fancy gilt brass buttons. Condition fine: only remnants of padded backing remain. Come with their original fitted metal box. Extremely rare with original storage container. Sold by Fladerman in 1980's, Catalog #106.
