Scottish Silver Mounted Presentation Dirk, given to Sir William Hoste, 1879

Scottish silver mounted presentation dirk with side knife and fork.  Cairngorm pommels.  Embossed thistles and floral designs on the mounts.  Coat of Arms on top mount.  Reverse side of top mount engraved "Sir William Hoste, Bart, Memento of Tour" through various countries listed on the other mounts with givers initials and the date 1879 on the tip.  I am assuming that Sir William was the grandson of Sir William Hoste, a famous Napoleonic admiral.  Bright single edged blade with no makers name.  Overall length 17 1/2 inches overall with an 11 1/2 inch blade.  Excellent condition.
